About Jim Rhodes M.S.W.
Jim has over 40 years’ experience working as a psychotherapist in Kingston. He began his career at Kingston General as a social worker/ therapist. He has been a private practice therapist since 1990. He earned his Masters in Social Work at Wilfred Laurier. He also holds a BA in Politics from University of Toronto.
Influences & Counselling Style
Using mindfulness and Buddhist Psychology, Jim offers an informal and safe environment in which to address your problems. He has studied with John Welwood and Stephen Levine. He also regularly attends meditation retreats at Spring Water Center in New York.
Jim also runs half-day or full-day retreats for couples at his lake property. Time will be divided between quiet contemplation in the meditation cabin, walking in the woods and counselling sessions. The program is flexible and will be designed in consultation with each couple.
